With ranges of up to 900 km for the Shahed-131 and over 2,000 km for the Shahed-136, the drones have been linked to attacks on energy and military infrastructure — including Saudi Arabia’s Ras Tanura Refinery and the 2019 strikes on Abqaiq oil processing facility.

Relatively low-cost and deployable in swarms, the Shahed series has become a central tool of asymmetric warfare in the region.
