Hiking from Hotel Serpiano up to the summit of Monte San Giorgio turned into way more than I expected. Halfway through the climb, I got stung by a European hornet—definitely not part of the plan.
This trail sits right on the border of Switzerland and Italy and delivers some of the most unreal valley and Lake Lugano views I’ve seen. Along the way, I even came across an old building hidden in the forest, adding a bit of mystery to the hike.
Painful moments aside, the summit view makes every step worth it. If you enjoy real hiking adventures—no filters, no fluff—this one’s for you
