'Little Richard and his Band' with "By The Light Of The Silvery Moon" recorded from the original late era South African 78 rpm shellac single on London PD.8197. "By The Light Of The Silvery Moon", with B-side "All Around The World", was released in South Africa in 1959. In the US "By The Light Of The Silvery Moon" was coupled with "Wonderin'" and did not chart. "By The Light Of The Silvery Moon" was recorded on October 16, 1956 at J&M Studio in New Orleans with Little Richard (real name Richard Wayne Penniman) on vocal and piano, Roy Eustris Montrell on guitar, Frank Fields on bass, Lee Allen on tenor saxophone, Alvin "Red" Tyler on baritone saxophone and Earl Palmer on drums. Background vocals by Adolph Smith, William Tircuit, Art Neville and Junior Gordon. Produced by Art Rupe. Words and music by Edward Madden and Gus Edwards.
The B-side, "All Around The World", will be available shortly.
