El Señor de los Milagros – The Lord of Miracles – is a 17th century painted image of Christ crucified. However, it is not just any painting. Its history and attributed miracles have immersed itself into very psyche of the Peruvian people, and indeed has become an integral part of Peruvian national identity.
In this video, Eric Manuel Torres provides a brief history of this image, from its origins to the recent declarations of patronship.
