Zēron ゼーロン mokuhanga print

Описание: Japanese Woodblock print “Zeron”. The first experimental collaboration of AI, Wojciech Roga and Macha.

We kept the traditional way of producing woodblock prints in Japan. The publisher (here Wojciech) contacted an author (here, artificial intelligence program Stable Diffusion Demo) who made designs according to the request. The chosen design was sent to a manufacturer (here Macha). The manufacturer prepared the design, the woodblocks, and made prints. Finally the prints were sent to the publisher who published them.

So the title of this work is: Zēron ゼーロン

It is a tribute to a writer Shinichi Makino
牧野信一 (1896-1936), a little known in the West author of a grotesque, fantasy, pastoral story inspired by his homeland Odawara, his lazy but idealized horse Zeron, and an idyllic world of the Antique Greece and romantic Medieval Europe.

Instead of a description of our print a fragment from Makino’s “Zeron”:

“Back then, when I was lost without life in the village tavern […] wasn’t it you my good Zeron who carefully carried me on your back and brought me home even though there was no one to hold the reins in the middle of the night?"
