Domestic Violence Call Ends in Armed Confrontation

Описание: On May 3, 2025, around 9:00 a.m., LAPD Southeast Patrol officers responded to a domestic violence call involving an armed suspect at a residence on East 118th Drive. The suspect, 26-year-old Shamar Bennett, was reportedly suicidal and armed with a rifle.

Upon arrival, officers heard screams and entered the home, where they encountered Bennett holding an AR-style CO2-powered BB gun. An officer-involved shooting occurred. Bennett was struck in the leg, taken into custody, and later treated at a hospital.
