*Black Beach: Varkala is famous for its cliff beaches and GOA like vibes. Varkala beach have clean pristine waters and huge waves, which make its beaches ideal for Surfing. You can catch a quick surfing lesson here or if you already know surfing, you can enjoy surfing. The name Black Beach is due to its actual shiny black sand on the beach. The beach is clean and beautiful.

*Bindu's Cafe: Varkala offers many shacks, cafes and restaurants in both North and South Cliff. We stayed at North Cliff and this cafe was suggested by the host of our stay. Bindu's cafe is a perfect spot to start your day with one of the best coffee in Varkala. Also, they provide multiple breakfast options and their freshly baked cakes are something one you should not miss. A must try in Varkala.

*Paravoor Mangrove Safari:
Vrakala offers many water sports activities but Mangrove forests are rare and in Varkala you can take a tropical Mangrove forest Safari in Paravoor , in small boats. You can also opt for Kayaking or take a dip in the water. Mangrove Safari ride is a guided tour of 3 hours which covers 480 hectares of Mangrove Forest covering two main Mangrove tunnels. They also offer Kayaking in the Mangrove forest starting from 45 mins to 3 hours.

Mangrove Safari - 3 hrs - 1799/- for 5 person Or 799/- per person
Kayaking : Starts from 299/- to 799/- per person

*Hotel Kripa Paravoor: This restaurant is a local favorite of Paravoor and serves amazing Kerala Thalis ranging from Veg Thali, Fish Thali, Chicken Thali, Mutton Thali, Duck Thali.
The taste is authentic and they have a basic sitting arrangement. Nothing fancy for the ambience but the food and its taste speaks about quality. Do try the thalis and Iddiyappam here. Its a budget friendly restaurant serving great food.

*Kollam Beach: Kollam beach is located in Kollam town which is at easily drivable distance from Varkala. You can take your own vehicle or rent a scooty to reach there. The drive from Varkala to Kollam is one of the best scenic beach route you will ever experience. The beach is clean but going into the water is strictly prohibited here and life guards do keep watch on people. You can enjoy beautiful sunset in evening here when the beach gets lively with some crowds and activity. A must do drive. Highly recommended.
