I've seen this cake made with fondant but I'm not a fan so decided to give it a try with buttercream. I'm really happy with how this attempt turned out!

This cake trend has been around a while and I always get tempted to give it a try when I see it. So many used fondant so I wanted to do my own take with buttercream - the edges aren't as clean but that might be due to my piping inexperience. I think it's well worth the improved taste.

The colours really pop - and I think this would be a great birthday cake for any age!
