Protection against Green Woodpeckers! Maisemore Commercial Poly Hive

Описание: Winter is coming! Our beehives may be attacked by Green Woodpeckers and so we need to preotect them. We use a simple method of wrapping them in chicken wire to keep the woodpeckers away from the hive body.

Maisemore Apiaries have agreed to supply me with equipment to stock an apiary with 12 x poly commercial hives complete with frame and foundation. They also sent along two supers for each hive complete with foundation and frames, a twin hive stand and two commercial poly nucs. The hives come complete with miller style feeders and straps to hold everything in one place.

Over the coming weeks of the beekeeping season I will record how we get on with these hives and show everything that happens “Warts “n” All”!
We intend introducing nucs into the hives in a couple of weeks once we have painted them and will then follow the colonies through the Summer and beyond.
