Story Summary
Simba is born as the prince of Pride Rock, destined to become king. His jealous uncle Scar plots to steal the throne by killing Simba's father, Mufasa, and convincing young Simba that he's responsible. Heartbroken and believing he caused his father's death, Simba runs away to the jungle where he meets Timon and Pumbaa, who teach him "Hakuna Matata" - no worries.
Years pass and Simba grows into an adult lion. When his childhood friend Nala finds him, she reveals that Scar has destroyed the Pride Lands. Initially refusing to return, Simba has a spiritual encounter with his father's spirit, who reminds him of his true identity and responsibility.
Simba returns home, confronts Scar, and learns the truth - Scar murdered Mufasa, not Simba. After an epic battle, Simba defeats Scar and takes his rightful place as king. The Pride Lands are restored to their former beauty, and the Circle of Life continues with the birth of Simba's cub.
