In this video, I'm going to show you how to add leading zeros to numbers in Excel and how to use a formula to keep leading zeros to a certain length. When working with invoice numbers in Excel, it's important to maintain a fixed length for consistency. This tutorial uses the RIGHT function to dynamically format numbers to a predefined length.
✅ Padding with Leading Zeros – By adding zeros inside quotation marks, we ensure that shorter numbers reach the required length.
✅ Concatenation with Ampersand (&) – This step combines the zeros with the original number before extracting the final digits.
✅ Dynamic Length Adjustment – The function adapts to different input sizes, always producing numbers of the correct length.
This method allows for automatic formatting, ensuring that all invoice numbers follow the required structure, regardless of their original length.
