A senior Israeli official now says Iran’s Supreme Leader was “almost certainly” eliminated in a strike that hit his residence during a high-level meeting in Tehran.

Iran has responded by firing missiles across the region — at Israel, U.S. bases, and Gulf states. But the scale of the retaliation is not what Tehran threatened.
