Описание: When Will Reeve was 3 years old, his father, known to the world as Superman, became a quadriplegic in an equestrian accident. The Reeve family sought out the support of the American Paralysis Association, and finding solace in the organization’s understanding and spinal cord injury resources, became strong organizational supporters. The association became the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. Christopher passed away at just 52 years old from injury-related complications. Less than two years later when Will was 13, he lost his mother to lung cancer. Over the next few years, Will began his dream career reporting and anchoring at ESPN. Dedicated to keeping his father’s legacy of support for SCI research and family resources, he became a board member at the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, leading the Champions Committee to inspire a new generation of philanthropists. Will is part of the strong tie between the Foundation and Help Hope Live: the Paralysis Resource Center, pioneered by Dana Reeve, offers Quality of Life Grants to promote independence, access, and community engagement for SCI families. Help Hope Live has been the recipient of six Quality of Life grants since the program’s founding.
