Nantucket Sports Connection proudly presents the Whalers Varsity Boys Ice Hockey squad as they host the Bourne Canalmen in a non-league matchup.
The Whalers are bouncing back from a 1-14 rebuilding year, with their only win coming on the road against the Canalmen 5-1 on Feb. 10, as they manage to exorcise the "ghosts of Gallo" following a string of late season and tournament defeats there. Nantucket had less luck on home ice, with Bourne shutting them out 4-0 on Jan. 25.
Prior to last season, these two teams seldom faced each other, save for the Round of 16 on March 3, 2024, where the Whalers managed a hard-fought 3-2 win -- this was also the last time Nantucket hosted a tournament game.
