Snake Road runs through the LaRue-Pine Hills area of Shawnee National Forest. It is famous for the seasonal movement of reptiles and amphibians between bluff habitat and nearby swamp habitat.

I filmed this trip back in 2015 on an older Galaxy phone, so the video quality is… vintage. The wildlife, however, is still top-tier. I recently found these clips, and I finally edited them into a trip video. I’m already planning a return visit.

Trip note: Snake Road is typically closed to vehicles during spring and fall migration windows. Always check the current closure notice before you go.
