The pipe-ram BOP is installed above the blind-ram BOP, as in Figure 1-1-21. After closing the pipe-ram BOP, there is drill string in the borehole. If the ram is stabbed and there is no way to replace it, it will cause an out-of-control blowout. A blowout happened in the SH1025 well, at the Xinjiang Oilfield, on June 30, 1995.
