Hollywood, Florida, searches on for a thief who stole 2 luxury cars worth a total of a cool half mil ($500,000) after hacking into a luxury car carrier. How did he do that?
A 2024 Mercedes Benz GL 600 Maybach worth around $200,000 was one of the cars. The heist began when Dealer's Choice Auto Transport service was scheduled to deliver the car to a customer in Hollywood, Florida on a Sunday.
But all of a sudden, the delivery location changed to Miami.
The criminal actually hacked into the driver's portal, knew what vehicles were being transported.
The thief happened to reach out to the driver, acting as if they were the receiving party, gave all the information.
The information was correct, knew what to say, told them where the car was supposed to go.
The driver doesn't know the difference, delivers it and... HACK!
