Counseling Caregivers at a Clinic Visit: A 5-Step Approach (Russian) – Responsive Care Series

The counseling visit takes place in Ghana and follows the five-step approach used in USAID’s Responsive Care and Early Learning Addendum training package. The five steps are: Step 1 – welcome the caregiver; Step 2 – assess the child’s situation; Step 3 – analyze areas for improvement; Step 4 – suggest actions; and Step 5 – summarize the visit.

The intended audience is health workers who work with mothers, fathers, and other caregivers of young children.

This video is part of USAID’s Responsive Care and Early Learning Series. The series is a set of teaching videos developed to help explain and promote responsive care, a foundational part of nurturing care in early child development. Responsive care refers to the ability of caregivers to notice, understand, and respond to their child’s signals in a timely and appropriate manner to enhance child development.
