In May 2021, I had a mishap with my Icom 7100 resulting in the magic smoke raising from the transceiver. In this video, I will discuss why it happened, tie all loose ends to prevent it from happening again and also the repair of the transceiver. The purpose of this video is to teach importance of keeping wires wrapped and safe from any power supply and to help diagnose any issue that someone else may be dealing with. I hope this video is helpful and educational. Don't be boneheaded like me and leave exposed wire near a power supply, They are very expensive! I am very lucky I was able to fix this Transceiver.
