Описание: 18 Plus 18= Ryobi 36V Miter Saw - Ryobi announced a few months ago that they were releasing a dual-battery system starting with the Ryobi 18V One+ 10-Inch Miter Saw. This miter saw is latest addition to the One+, or One+One, lineup that connects the two batteries in series to create a 36V tool using two 18V batteries. Two batteries will increase the voltage, but keep the amp hours of the batteries the same.  In our case, we tested the saw with two 18 volt 4.0 Ah batteries, so we created a 36 volt 4AH battery equivalent.  Ryobi recommends the saw be used with Lithium high capacity batteries and has also promised to come out with larger 6AH and 9Ah batteries in the future.

The sliding miter saw has a brushless motor with a no-load speed of 4000 RPM. It features an electric brake to quickly stop the blade after you release the trigger.  Roybi also included a laser alignment system to the left of the blade to mark the cut line. This red laser comes on when you pull the trigger and start the blade or can be independently started by pressing the laser button without the blade spinning.  Dust collection is through a 1-1/4″ dust port behind the blade and above the sliding rail system.

The saw miters from 47° left to 52° to the right, with miter stops at the common angles of 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, and 45°.  The saw will bevel right and left to 45° with a positive stop at 0°.

Cut Capacity

Ryobi's new sliding miter saw can cross cut a 2 x 12 and make a cut as tall as 3-5/8″. At 45° it’ll cut dimensional lumber up to 2 x 8. While the specs say it can cut large crown nested, the left fence is very small making it hard for us to get accurate cuts on crown.  We finally had to lay the crown flat on the table to make good cuts.

Contractor vs DIY Use

We feel that using two 18 volt batteries is preferred to creating a new battery platform for new, larger tools.  Ryobi has a large line of tools and adding these new products to the line without changing the battery system is awesome.  The miter saw has a good amount of power with two 4.0Ah batteries but it struggled a bit with bevel cutting a 2x12.  That alone will not stop it from being a good saw for contractors.  We really felt the lack of a tall fence on the left hand side made it hard to get accurate cuts when nesting crown.  There is very little fence to work with when nesting the crown, and while we could work around it, on a jobsite it would cause the user to possibly make multiple cuts to get the angles perfect.

As a DIY saw, this miter saw was great.  The ability to cut a 2x12 is great and the saw does not weigh a lot, 34 pounds, so it is easily moved.  The only real issue we had with the saw was a buildup of saw dust on the slides that eventually ended up with us not being able to make a full cut.  Once we found the problem, we cleaned the slides and went back to work.  Ryobi has been taking some giant steps forward in the power and quality of tools they are releasing.  This is another tool that is a big step forward for the brand.
