Making a Brass Fretting Hammer

Описание: I'm starting to make some musical instruments in my little shop. That requires a lot of new tools. There seems to be a never ending list of essential tools and they are almost always beautifully crafted, well designed, and expensive. Most luthiers make what they can.

A fretted instrument needs frets. And to put those frets in a press or a hammer is needed. Someday I may get a press but a hammer works fine and is cheaper - even when store bought. Brass works well because it's soft enough that it won't damage the frets.

This project could be so much easier, but I wanted to play with my neglected old lathe and make something shiny.
