Morfem is an alternative rock band that originated in Jakarta in 2009. The band was founded by Jimi Multhazam, the vocalist, who felt disillusioned with his previous involvement in the new wave band, The Upstairs.

In 2009, Jimi met Pandu, a guitarist, and Freddie, a drummer, at a music event, which marked the beginning of Morfem. The band is known for its musical style, which blends alternative rock with elements of punk rock, power pop, and a preference for bold and noisy guitar tones.
