We Ate Bugs & Experienced an Earthquake in Mexico City 🇲🇽 | Spontaneous CDMX Travel Vlog

Описание: We were having a convo with two friends who had visited Mexico City and literally a week later we were like… okay, we need to go to Mexico City too — especially since (at the time) the Jamaican heat was doing the absolute most. And honestly? Best decision ever.

Mexico City is such an underrated destination. Everyone talks about Cancun, Tulum, and Playa del Carmen, but Mexico City has this beautiful cool, temperate climate (pack a jacket!) and some of the best food we’ve ever had in our lives — no exaggeration. The flavours, the freshness, the variety? Crazy!

On this trip we explored neighbourhoods, tried incredible restaurants, visited Ripley’s Museum, and took a day trip to Teotihuacán, the ancient pyramid complex about an hour outside the city — complete with ruins, gardens and a museum. Afterward, we ate at La Gruta, a stunning cave restaurant serving fresh drinks, traditional food, and adventurous options if you’re feeling bold (yes… bugs included).

On one of the days there, we randomly hopped on a city sightseeing bus tour while walking through the city — something we always recommend when visiting somewhere new because it gives you a real lay of the land and helps you understand the city better.

We spent time at Chapultepec Park, one of the largest urban parks in the Western Hemisphere — bigger than Central Park — home to Chapultepec Castle, museums, lakes, walking trails, and endless green space right in the heart of Mexico City (including a naturally integrated starbucks). It’s such a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle and absolutely worth visiting.

And… plot twist — we experienced an earthquake 😭 the first one in another country. We were scared, ran outside, but thankfully everything was okay and we were safe. Still one of those moments you never forget.

Overall, Mexico City completely stole our hearts — the culture, the food, the history, the weather, the vibes. If you’ve been thinking about visiting, take this as your sign.
