Filmauro S.r.l. is an Italian company founded by Luigi De Laurentiis and Aurelio De Laurentiis in 1975 as Auro Cinematografica which operates in the film and home video production and distribution sector, as well as having control of the Napoli and Bari football teams.
Medusa Film is a joint stock company controlled by Mediaset.
In 1989 Medusa was absorbed into Penta Film, a joint venture between Cecchi Gori Group and Silvio Berlusconi Communication. The two companies will coexist at the distribution level until 1990, but the latest films in the Medusa list (including Tea in the Desert, from 1990) are distributed under the new brand. La Penta buys, produces and distributes in Italy some of the greatest cinema successes of those years, both Italian and international. Furthermore, a good part of the Italian actors are the prerogative of this distribution house, which can compete with the big Hollywood majors. The company dissolved in 1995.
