External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar represented Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his Special Envoy at the inaugural function of President Donald Trump in Washington DC today. The External Affairs Minister was carrying a letter from the Prime Minister for President Trump, sources said. They said that the general practice has been to send Special Envoys of the Prime Minister to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Heads of State and Government. Republican leader Donald Trump took oath as the 47th US President. It will be his second term in office.
