This nug jar is my first time pouring resin after a long absence. In addition to life happening, winter in my area is not condusive to happy resin work. Now that it's finally warming up a bit I thought that it was safe to pour. Nope. This video shows how easy it is to end up with a flash cure. The main factors why this happened are:
1: Outside was very cold
2: Inside was very warm
3: I left the door open and it caused a rapid temperature change
4: I didn't pour in layers and the resin wasn't designed for a deep pour
Flash cures give off a lot of heat and can be dangerous. In some cases it will actually combust. That's dangerous for 2 reasons. First, FIRE!!! Second, FUMES!!! Burning resin is toxic and dangerous, so be very careful and take preventative measures like having a fire extiguisher onhand at all times, as well as your normal resin work preperations (mask, gloves, etc).
