Sathiyan Gnanasekaran is an Indian table tennis player, ranked at 30 in the world as of January 2020. He was a member of the Indian team that took the bronze in the 2011 Junior World Championships. G Sathiyan has become India’s highest-ranked player in the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) rankings. Sathiyan, who was nowhere near the top-100 bracket until a few months ago,[when?] is the highest-ranked Indian right now at 30.Sathiyan is from Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu. He was educated as an engineer. He studied in St.Joseph's College of Engineering, Chennai. He studied in Kolaperumal Chetty Vaishnav Senior Secondary school in Arumbakkam Chennai.He had recently been signed up with the top German club Grünwettersbach for the prestigious German Bundesliga top division league.

He is currently being supported by the GoSports Foundation through the Rahul Dravid Athlete Mentorship Programme.
