A spectacular sight as a Royal Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 from No. 11 Squadron powers out of RAF Coningsby (EGXC) using full afterburner. The Typhoon’s twin-engine roar and orange exhaust plumes light up the runway as it accelerates into the Lincolnshire skies.
RAF Coningsby is one of the RAF’s primary Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) bases, home to front-line Typhoon squadrons responsible for protecting UK and NATO airspace. No. 11 Squadron, with its long and distinguished history, operates the Typhoon in both air defence and multirole configurations, capable of air-to-air and air-to-ground missions.
