09:12 The Resurrection Problem: Special Pleading in Christianity?
For years, parts of the Bible were treated as literal history. Six days meant six days. A global flood meant the entire Earth. Conquest meant total destruction.
But as science and morality advanced, something changed.
Creation became poetry.
The flood became regional.
Conquest became ancient war rhetoric.
Yet when we arrive at the Resurrection, the flexibility disappears.
Why?
In this video, we examine the pattern of reinterpretation in the Old Testament — from Genesis to Jericho — and ask a difficult question:
Is this a maturing understanding of ancient texts…
or are we watching the goalposts move to protect the one claim that cannot fall?
We’ll explore:
The original meaning of “yom” in Genesis
Why the global flood was historically understood as literal
How early church fathers viewed conquest
The rise of modern reinterpretations
Why the Resurrection is treated differently
And whether this creates a contradiction
If interpretation changes every time new knowledge appears, who is really the authority?
