Silvertone MANUMATIC Record Player Comparisons Utilizing All 4 Speeds/Model

Описание: While both of these models were featured in previous videos, neither one yet had the proper replacement belt necessary to operate the 33 & 16 RPM speeds properly. Both belts were stretched over time so as to be totally useless. The 2" belts were obtained from Gary Stork @ VM. I VERY highly recommend him for parts, service & knowlege - he has it all!

Note again these are called "MANUMATIC" players. This is because these are for the most part MANUAL operation! 78 RPM & 33 RPM records are 100% manual operation-one at a time. With the centerpost adapter, 45 & 16 RPM records could be stacked & played SEMI-AUTOMATICALLY. I say "semi-automatic" because you couldn't just use the reject knob to start the play from the parked position. After stacking your records on the post, it requires you to move the tonearm to the end of the record play position for the cam beneath the the platter (actually part OF the plastic platter) to then cycle the cam to produce "automatic" operation. Should you desire to reject a record after it's started the play, you had to hold the reject switch to the left long enough for the cam to cycle the tonearm again to produce the rejection (no doubt a pain in the ass but that's the way this was cheaply designed!). Clearly, you can see why these Manumatic's never caught on. Four speed fully automatic changers were plentiful at this time so who really needed a semi-auto turntable??!! Of course, there is no auto shut-off at the end of the cycle either! Today, these are just an oddity for collectors. Speaking of which.....I still need the "cheap" version single stage amp model and aux changer only for my collection. I'm also looking for a spare centerpost adapter for the 16 & 45 RPM.
