Update 2.0 overhauls the Zone's lighting and visuals with improved lighting and reworked landscapes and foliage. A-Life improvements include more believable activity and encounters in the Zone, with more contested points of interest. The new update will also introduce Custom Rules, allowing you to tailor the difficulty to your preferred playstyle. You can also try Master difficulty and the optional Expedition mode.

In addition to three new binoculars, four new weapons are available in the arsenal, including the Arev assault rifle, the GP3A designated marksman rifle, the SKP designated marskman rifle, and the Fora-230 submachine gun. A unique variant of one of these weapons can also be discovered somehwere in the Zone. New scopes will also be added.

Also available in Update 2.0, fog weather scenario, light rain weather update, a new statistics page, and Bloodsuckers and Fleshes enemy appearances can be different depending on their habitat.
