We all regret doing things in our lives. Maybe in our work, our personal lives, or our relationships.
But I bring good news! None of the things we regret doing now will matter in the end.
I’m a GP, and I often look after patients at the end of their lives. These people tell me that our approach to life is completely the wrong way around. Instead of regretting the things they did in their lives, it’s the things they didn’t do that they regret.
My talk will explain how we view our life path through a flawed lens. It will encourage you to reassess your plans, begin ‘living your dream’ now, and start doing right now all those things you planned on doing later.
Because now is the time to start your bucket list. Rich is a lover of music, fitness, travel, and many other things. In his spare time he works as a doctor. He's a GP in the East Midlands, and also works in a local A&E department, and in medical education at the University of Nottingham. His talk turns what he's learnt from his patients into a call to action. As, surprisingly, it isn’t the things we do in our lives that we regret… This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
