FORMATION:
I used him as my left CB in the 4-2-2-2 formation and applied the SHADOW Chemistry style to boost that PACE primarily. I played 6 games in Division 1 Rivals alongside RTTF Akanji. Let’s begin.

PACE:
His pace overall is good for a CB, and is one of the quicker CB’s that I have used this year. A combination of 82 Sprint Speed and 83 Acceleration when boosted by a further +10 with the Shadow chemistry style, make him feel pretty quick while tracking back and helped him catch my opposition’s forwards relatively easily. A couple of times, my opponent put in a great through ball letting their attacker slip in behind past Alaba, and that did not bode well for him as he didn’t catch upto them in time as they had enough time to take a clean shot onto goal. This made me realise as to why existing meta tactic of using RB/LB’s at CB to help them catch up to the quicker attackers and intercept through balls is in-play.

SHOOTING:
He has one of the best shots for a CB. You can bang them in from range due to that long shot taker trait and I scored a banger with him from outside the box due to that. If you get a chance to soot with him, go for it as that 88 shot power will trouble the keeper.

PASSING:
Amazing passing from the back! He is undoubtedly one of the best ball playing CBs this year. Passing with him on either foot was an effortless experience.

DRIBBING:
His dribbling and responsiveness are in a class of his own for a CB! He feels extremely smooth and agile to dribble or jockey with even in slightly delayed gameplay. He has amazing dribbling statistics for a CB, with a combination of 83 Agility, 84 Balance, 90 Ball control and 84 Dribbling which compliment his body type and unique frame in-game! He is in the top 5 most responsive defenders in the game!

DEFENDING:
His defending was world class! He has some insane stats defensively and when combined with how responsive he feels, he can literally do it all! His auto and manual interceptions were insane, his tackling was smooth and extremely clean and his defensive positioning (even though he has M/M WR) was sublime! Defending with him as an extremely rewarding experience and he was simply outstanding!

PHYSICALITY:
Alaba has some physicality to him as he has 84 strength. I have played with much stringer CB’s, but his strength is good enough to bully attackers off the ball.
He will win you most headers as he has 92 Jumping and stands at 5’11. His 83 stamina is a positive and he’ll last the entire 90 minutes effortlessly!

VALUE FOR COINS:
390k is great value for this card considering it’s a live card. He is an amazing CB in terms of his in-game performance as well as how fun he is to play with! Alaba is one of the most well rounded cards in the game and hence can be used as a great CM or a CDM. Hence, his versatility is a big plus with his card as you can experiment with him in different positions. Considering the Full backs at CB Meta, you can find other cards to put in an equally impressive shift defensively at a fraction of the cost, but if Bayern successfully progress to the finals or even win the UCL, this card from being an already impressive card, will be turned into an absolute behemoth with a +2 or +3 upgrade!
