From Sydney to San Francisco, major cities and landmarks around the world were nearly empty over the noon hour on March 31 as a result of lockdowns, quarantines, and social distancing measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of Tuesday, more than 851,000 people had been infected internationally and 42,053 had died.
Infections have been reported in more than 200 countries and territories.
