Описание: This video is intended to give a 'mini tour' and very brief history of this beautiful and intimate church, at one time the private chapel of the Delves Broughton family. The film was shot on a perfect spring morning in glorious sunshine, so the stained glass in particular is seen at its best. The music is by Sir Hubert Parry - his Chorale Prelude on the hymn tune 'Martyrdom'. It was published in 1916, two years after the organ was installed at St. John's by Wadsworth & Bro. of Manchester. There is a plaque on the instrument bearing the inscription, 'To the glory of God and in memory of Sir Delves Louis Broughton, Baronet, this organ was given by parishioners and friends in token of their high esteem and affection. 1914'.
