↼ ↼ Mood of the Song ⇁ ⇁

In this track I try to mix an eerie and dark mood with a faint hope and happiness in conflict.

The strings in the opening represent the feeling of dread of being trapped by your own mind this room. This short theme can be hear throughout the track.
The second theme on piano represents the bliss that's also very much present. Both somewhat happy and melancholic, representing the trade off between win or lose here.

The 'boom' heard throughout the track is made by reshaping recordings of closing doors, getting more and more overtaken by a bassdrum. Respresenting the slow erosion of the idea that you can actually leave if you'd want to.

The Glockenspiel that makes its way into the track and is dominant at the end represents the longing for a simplistic life the chamber offers.
Furthermore there is a lot of alto background choir because I think that section can represent mixed feelings and melancholia very well.

Long ago a mythic tribe warned travellers of their lands to be wary of a door.
Made long ago by an artist obsessed by desire gone mad, after discovering ancient magic.
When you cross the woods of this land all alone, you'll sometimes hear a beckoning.
Unclear where it comes from, something pulls you towards a shimmering door.
You'll feel the urge to enter this door, but beware.
In it you'll begin to feel a bliss like you've never felt before.
but...
This also means you'll never want to leave.
The life you lived slowly eroding from your mind.
You'll lose what makes you human to become part of this temptation chamber.
The always unlocked exit becoming a relic of a life lived long ago.

There is something about dark stories that appeals to us. Noises heard in a house once home to a murdered family. Tales of a mysterious creature spotted in the night. A mind haunted by voices coming from seemingly nowhere. These songs are the soundtrack to those type of stories. Inspired by the enigma's found in horrorfilms and thrillers.
