Ingredients:
Brinjals / Eggplants / Aubergines - 6 small size / 500 gms
For the curry paste :
Tamarind - 1 inch ball
Warm Water - ½ cup / 125 ml
Kashmiri Red Chillies - 8
(Use 6 chillies if you want it less spicy)
Warm Water - ½ cup / 125 ml for soaking
Ginger - ½ inch piece
Garlic - 5 cloves medium size
Turmeric / Haldi powder - ½ tsp
Cumin / Jeera seeds - ¾ tsp
Black Peppercorns - 10
Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
Cloves - 5
Water - ¼ cup / 60 ml
For the cooking:
Onions - 2 medium size
Tomato - 1 medium size
Green Chilli - 1
Garlic - 3 cloves medium size
Dried Prawns - ½ cup
Goan Vinegar - 2 tbsp
Sugar - 1 tsp + 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp + ½ tsp
Coconut Oil / Cooking Oil - 3 tbsp
Water - 2 ¼ cups / 560 ml
