Altai Mountains is one of playable regions in Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts. It is located in the most north-western point of modern-day Mongolia. This is the first proper region with contracts available for player to be completed.

Altai Mountains is a region made up of three major parts, which are connected to each other by a network of naturally formed corridors. Two of them - northern and eastern parts - are urbanized compounds of Ivanovsky's Altai-24 research facility that was build back in Soviet Union and given to him by Nergui Kurchatov. The south-eastern third part is an environment full of towering rocks created by local earthquakes. In the middle of these rocky highlands and woody lowlands are pipelines carrying chemicals from one part of the facility to another, as well as communication towers and buildings for security.
