Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) technique for Children's dental treatment

Описание: In some cases, sedation techniques such as nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or oral sedatives may be used to help patients relax during dental procedures.

Conscious sedation helps in treating anxious children and children who are less compliant. The goal of conscious sedation is to keep your child calm and relaxed. Your child must arrive to the reserved time fasting, no food or drink over the previous 3 hours prior to their appointment. Your child will be given Nitrous Oxide or also known as laughing gas. This is given through a nose piece that your child will wear. Your child will be sedated by inhaling laughing gas (a mix of Oxygen and Nitrous Oxide). We ask that parents do not leave the office for the full duration of the procedure. Your child will be conscious and awake both throughout the appointment. After the completion of the treatment your child will inhale oxygen only for a short period of time. Once released by the doctor, your child will no longer be sedated but your child may be drowsy, irritable, hyperactive, or sleepy.
