Greetings TourLifers,
On this weeks episode of Driving Home, we head out to the desert to pick up a free Dodge Class C motorhome that we found for free on Craigslist.
The RV itself was in great condition. Mechanically, the only thing stopping us from driving it out of our new friends backyard was a flooding Holley carburetor, some funky ignition wiring and low transmission fluid.
We made a run over to the nearest Autozone and picked up a generic Holley rebuild kit and some fluid. We didn't rebuild the entire carb onsite, but just replaced the components and gaskets that were heavily leaking gasoline and causing it to flood. For the time being, we jump started the engine until we could dive deeper into the wiring.
Thankfully we were able to make the journey back to LA without any issues. Another one saved from the wrecking yard!
Tune in next week for part 2. We'll be digging through the electrical, repairing interior wall and ceiling panels and finding this beauty a forever home.
