The T. Thomas Fortune Foundation/Cultural Center brings you,
Entwined for Survival: Monmouth County Native American People &
The Black Enslaved Population held on February 6, 2021
A fascinating story delivered in the oral history tradition
by Claire Garland (Cherokee) and Norris Branham (Leni Lenape)
of their lineage and heritage, which is not always told or
heard often enough. This documentary focuses on
Native American people and the African enslaved population
of Monmouth County that dates back to the 1600’s.
