The two key Danish politicians of the historical National Liberal Party, Colonel and Chief of Danish armed forces Emanuel Andreas Lundbye and statesman and Prime Minister Carl Christian Hall try to persuade D.G. Monrad into delivering a key speech on Danish nationalism, roots and heritage as key founding stones of the National Liberal Party to gain power in 1863.
One of their most famous political matters was the question of right over Schleswig, which they sought to annex as a part of greater scheme to unify Denmark and solidify Danish nationalism.
