WATCH: Sen. Rosen pushes Postmaster General Dejoy for details on his decision-making process

Jacky Rosen, D-Nevada, asked Postmaster General Louis Dejoy whether he had conducted any analyses on how operational changes to the U.S. Postal Service would affect vulnerable communities, including veterans and seniors, at a hearing of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Aug. 21. Dejoy denied pursuing any policy changes that would slow down service to the communities referenced by Rosen, and said he was working toward ensuring faster, more on-time delivery by modifying USPS truck transportation schedules. “There are millions of people watching who are impacted every day by what you do,” Rosen said, pushing Dejoy to pledge transparency to the American people. Dejoy disagreed with her premise and said he would provide a transportation schedule that he directed the USPS to adhere to, but not any research or analysis that guided his decision.
