With Definitely Maybe releasing the following day, Oasis play another European festival, this time the Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands. This show doesn’t get mentioned often due to how little exists of the concert (only the first four songs are captured) and added to this, it’s not really known what songs were played, though the fact that Shakermaker opens the set (and the endings for it and Fade Away are cut down) suggests to me it was a shorter set than usual down to time constraints for the festival, similar to Glastonbury. But, what we have is a top performance of 1994. Mainly down to Liam, who sounds magnificent on Shakermaker, and does the next three songs justice too, due to the week’s rest the band received. The other lads seem to be in good form too. There are two interviews beforehand, one with Liam and Guigsy, focussing on the topic of where they were when Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain passed away earlier in April. Young Liam’s view on the topic in particular may be somewhat polarising. Noel’s interview is based more around the touring, and in particular how to stay motivated when touring constantly. Shakermaker is only available through the video shot from the side of the stage, while the final three songs are from a radio broadcast (which is where the interviews also originated from).
