Mountain King - Vic 20 - Cartridge - Real Hardware

Описание: A nice scrolling platformer from 1983. Published by Beyond, who went on to publish several well known games I played on the C64 and Amiga.
The aim is to gather diamonds until the cyan counter gets to 0 and goes white (you have gathered 1000 diamonds to release the Flame Spirit). Then you need to find the Flame Spirit to allow access to the Temple. You do this by shining your torch and listening for the music. The louder the music, the closer you are. The torch light will show the spirit. You get the white bonus points added to your score when you find the spirit. Pull down to collect it.
Then you go to the temple that's surrounded by flames (these will kill you if you touch them) and pull down to give the Flame Spirit to the Skull Spirit that guards the entrance. You can then pull down to jump to the crown.
From now on you need to get to the top of the highest hill (the one with the flame on it) to finish the level.
If a bat hits you, you lose the crown and have to find the Flame Spirit again before getting the crown and trying again.
You can also find chests with diamonds in to speed up the collecting, and the bottom level has a spider that can trap you in a web (wiggle to escape).
The controls are a bit fiddly, as you get stuck on the scenery quite often, but it's a decent game.
Pressing F5 at the title screen lets you choose the starting skill level.
