LEAD-IN
Beer may not be the first thing you think of when it comes to the Middle East, but one Palestinian village celebrates Oktoberfest with all the enthusiasm of Munich.
The tiny Christian village of Taybeh plays host to a two-day festival attended by visitors from as far away as the US, Japan and Australia.
STORYLINE
Situated in a Muslim-majority area and under Israeli control the Palestinian village of Taybeh - tasty in Arabic - makes an unlikely location for a beer festival.
But the tiny Christian enclave has been holding it's sixth annual Oktoberfest and organisers say it's getting bigger and better every year.
The signature tipple at the festival is the honey-coloured Taybeh beer, which shares it's name with the village.
Brewery General Director Nadim Khoury is delighted by the progress the festival is making.
