The late autumn light illuminates the pebbles, and I continue walking along the approach to the shrine, where the lingering echoes of the Niiname-sai festival still linger. The overwhelming presence of the historic sacred tree and the presence of countless people praying as they come and go. I begin my walk today as if tracing the boundary between everyday life and the extraordinary, to experience the prayers and hustle and bustle of someone going on right next to me.
