The ancient days, tales were spun
a chapter of history, now long undone
the dragons that would rule the skies
had hearts once filled with friendship's tide
but the relentless march of time took hold
and stories changed, like legends old
heroes rose, their hearts aflame
seeking fortune and a name
yet little did they know the cost
for a dragon's gold, once loved and lost
stained with a sorrow, tainted deep
a history written in shadow's keep
and so dear souls remember this
in the tales of the dragon, and calling abyss
seek not in greed what others own
for hearts are richer when love is sown
