Anyways here's a summary of the video:
Nintendo’s 2025 Year in Review has been delayed from December to January 2026, and that delay is actually a good thing. Unlike previous years, this recap will include your full December playtime, which is one of the most important gaming months of the year. December is when people get new games and consoles, have time off from work, school, or university, and log huge amounts of playtime during the holidays. Releasing the review early would leave out a massive chunk of meaningful data, so waiting until January results in a more accurate and honest “year” in review.

2025 was a major year for Nintendo, largely defined by the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2.
Reception to the games varied. Mario Kart World drew mixed reactions due to its open-world design. Donkey Kong Bananza was critically acclaimed. Drag x Drive failed to impress. Pokémon Legends: Z-A stood out as a refreshing and enjoyable experience. Kirby Air Riders blended kart racing with Smash-style mechanics. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment acted as a Zelda prequel spin-off with mixed appeal. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond released in December and received divided opinions, particularly regarding its ending.

Third-party support on Switch 2 was surprisingly strong, with titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Yakuza 0 available at launch. For many players, the most-played games of the year weren’t Nintendo titles at all, but games like Hades II and Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4.

Overall, 2025 proved that the Switch 2 is powerful hardware with solid third-party backing, even if some first-party releases were hit-or-miss. 2026 is shaping up to be the console’s true breakout year, with a much stronger lineup already confirmed, including Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, Resident Evil titles, new Pokémon games, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. There’s also the possibility of Pokémon Generation 10 arriving, making 2026 an even bigger year for Nintendo.
