महाराष्ट्र के डिप्टी CM अजित पवार का निधन हो गया है। बुधवार सुबह 8.45 बजे बारामती एयरपोर्ट पर लैंडिंग के दौरान उनका चार्टर्ड प्लेन क्रैश हो गया। वे 66 साल के थे। हादसे में पवार के सुरक्षाकर्मी, दो पायलट और एक महिला क्रू मेंबर समेत 5 लोगों की जान गई। पवार महाराष्ट्र पंचायत चुनाव के लिए जनसभा को संबोधित करने बारामती जा रहे थे। वे मुंबई से सुबह 8.10 बजे रवाना हुए थे। महाराष्ट्र एविएशन डिपार्टमेंट के मुताबिक पायलट ने सुबह 8.45 बजे बारामती एयरपोर्ट पर लैंडिंग की कोशिश की थी, लेकिन रनवे साफ दिखाई नहीं दिया तो वह विमान को दोबारा ऊंचाई पर ले गया। पहली कोशिश नाकाम रहने के बाद बारामती के रनवे-11 पर दोबारा लैंडिंग की कोशिश की गई। इस दौरान विमान रनवे से फिसलकर क्रैश हो गया। इसके तुरंत बाद उसमें आग लग गई। जानकारी मिली है कि लैंडिंग के दौरान पायलट ने कोई इमरजेंसी सिग्नल नहीं दिया था। उसने 'मेडे' कॉल भी नहीं किया था। महाराष्ट्र के CM देवेंद्र फडणवीस मुंबई से बारामती के लिए रवाना हो गए हैं। उन्होंने आज स्कूलों की छुट्‌टी और 3 दिन के राजकीय शोक की घोषणा की है। पवार का अंतिम संस्कार बारामती में किए जाने की संभावना है। अजित के चाचा शरद पवार बारामती हॉस्पिटल पहुंच गए हैं, जहां सभी शव लाए गए हैं। इधर, एयरक्राफ्ट इन्वेस्टिगेशन ब्यूरो यानी AAIB ने हादसे की जांच शुरू कर दी है। जांच एजेंसी की एक टीम दिल्ली में विमान की ऑपरेटर कंपनी VSR वेंचर्स के ऑफिस पहुंची है। दूसरी टीम बारामती रवाना हो गई है।

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has left Mumbai for Baramati. He has declared a holiday for schools today and three days of state mourning. Pawar's funeral is likely to be held in Baramati. Ajit's uncle, Sharad Pawar, has reached the Baramati hospital where all the bodies have been brought. Meanwhile, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has launched an investigation into the accident. A team from the investigating agency has reached the office of VSR Ventures, the aircraft operator, in Delhi. Another team has left for Baramati.
